This movie answered some questions I was having after seeing an episode of Friends where Phoebe got really upset after watching it, but it didn't really do anything for me. I think what happened to the dog was neccessary, and once he got sick he was no longer the cute, helpful dog he had been before.
If it had been my dog I would have done the same thing. I have seen much sadder dog movies though.
