Review of Old School (2003) by Kristi W — 02 Jul 2010
Old School is about 7 years old now and it's still as funny as the first time I saw it. However, after seeing Luke Wilson in all those cell phone commercials it was slightly shocking to see how skinny he was in 2003! I love his character in this movie, too. Professional and responsible except that he is the Godfather of a fraternity for men of all ages in his spare time. Then he randomly breaks out of his sort of subdued exterior with moments where he goes completely nuts. Awesome.
This could only ever work with a frat. 30ish girls could never do this. I guess that's just one more difference between men and women. Women are always wanting that next commitment, that next step in life. Men are much more likely to want to go back to the good ol' times. It's too bad really. Plus, could you imagine the craziness that would ensue if you put a dozen or so women in a house together? It's bad enough in college, I can't even imagine what it would be like with adult women. Too much drama for me!
