Review of Old Joy (2006) by Brian M — 11 Mar 2008
Peaceful, hypnotic, and dream-like best describe this meditation on growing up and watching as cities replace nature. Although somewhat anti-climactic and featuring an uncharacteristic plot turn, the beautiful landscape and score by Yo La Tengo keep things focused.
And it's nice to see a movie about people in the woods without them being chased by rednecks/murderers/mutants for a change.
