Review of Oklahoma! (1955) by Kelli N — 31 Aug 2007
Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy this film. Although Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones steam up the screen as inevitable lovers Curly and Laurey, the slow-moving pace was a major deterrent. But the winner was the Rodgers and Hammerstein score, with lovely songs such as "Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'", "People Will Say We're In Love", and "Oklahoma!".
The love triangle between Ado Annie (Gloria Grahame), Will Parker (Gene Nelson) and Ali Hakim (Eddie Albert) was entertaining though.
