The colors start to fade away once we dive deeper into the corporate business side of the story. Subtetly is not a word I would use to describe the way Okja displays its overall message. It paints the Mirando Corporation as cartoonishly greedy business suits and nothing more.
Business is evil, money leads to heartlessness, slaughtering animals for human gain is immoral... it really hits you over the head with these subjects. Luckily not all of the magic is lost as you are always engaged in Mija's struggle to bring Okja back home safely.
