Review of Oh! What a Lovely War (1969) by Paavo I — 26 Feb 2009
Very patchy and as long as WWI, but has some nice cinematography and I dig the misical scenes. The main flaws are the scenes describing the head officers, as they require knowledge of WWI era politics.
Still a decent effort to combine the tragedy, adventure and spectacle elements of war movies by turning the whole madness into a carnival. Rewarding if one can stand the running time.
