Review of Oh! What a Lovely War (1969) by Rick L — 23 Jun 2007
An exceptional war satire - with a Who's Who cast list of British actors. The horror of war is made all the more appalling by the end-of-pier setting. Highlights for me were Maggie Smith's music hall turn; John Mill's Haig and the final scene is unforgettable.
An overlooked masterpiece.
