Review of Of Time and the City (2008) by Andrew B — 11 Jan 2010
Some beautiful shots and sequences, but this works more like a peculiar mosaic than a film. Though it's ripe with some strong narration and wonderful quotes by the narrator (whether or not their significance to the footage is immediately understood), it seems to lack a cohesive arc that would possibly attach the viewer more to the events.
Almost works as a history lesson, but lacks the rhetoric to meet its potential.
