I think John Malkovich did a convincingly good job at playing Lenny. John is hilarious with some of the stuff he does playing as Lenny. You can already tell Lennie is a burden to George. So many questions. Why are they together? How did they get tied up together? Jeez, that ranch is full of traps, full of opportunities for Lenny or George to fuck up. Seeing all that old machinery at work is pretty impressive and it looks like it's in good condition.

Curley's wife is such a fucking trap, a tease if you will. A little slut. So heartbroken when they take that dog away from the old man to shoot him. It was like watching big chunk of the old man soul being taken away from him. A piece of him died that night. And the look on his face. So sad. I bet the old man dies or kills himself soon after that.

Poor Crooks. He spoke some real shit. Like how a man goes crazy if he doesn't have someone to talk to. Gets all lonely. It was finally a breath of fresh air to see all the guys get together to play a little horseshoe. Holy shit, I got so worried when Lenny started petting the wife's hair. You can tell things are going to turn out differently this time since George isn't running with Lenny like last time they ran. Lenny's on his own. The movie ends on a pretty depressing note because now George is all alone. Just like Curly's wife, just like Crooks, just like most of the men.

What's so great about his movie is that it's more than just a guy taking care of his dumb friend and there journey through the ranch. It's about more important things like real things, that make us human. Things like being lonely and racism. The site how she's married and has it all, yet she's unhappy because no one pays attention to her and she's lonely. Same with Crooks. But in his case, he's lonely because he's black. Some pretty sad shit, but so real and possible. What's so funny is that Lenny is like the middle man to everyone. He's dumb as a brick, yet everyone opens up to him about what they're really thinking and he says it like it is to people because he doesn't know any better. You really start to get a sense of who everyone really is once Lenny starts talking to them.

Didn't think this movie was going to be much but it ended up being more than what I expected. I'll be watching this one again later on.
