Review of Of Mice and Men (1992) by Mikhail B — 18 Dec 2011
The kind-hearted George (Gary Sinise, also acts here as a director) together with the strong but retarded Lennie played by John Malkovich goes around the country earning living and dreaming to finally buy their own farm.
Because of Lennie's habit of experiencing flashes of violence when he gets scared, they often get into troubles, but George's resourcefulness keep them afloat. Tension builds up in this capturing story when Lennie's simple-mindedness turns ordinary every-day events into perils; and the entire life into a tragedy waiting to happen.
Wonderfully directed and performed, this films each time gives me shivers.
