Odd Thomas is most definitely an oddity. It was released quietly on DVD (also on Netflix), but from the calibre of talent on show, feels like it should really have been released on the big screen.

Starring Anton Yelchin and Willem Defoe (and directed by Stephen Sommers) Odd is based on the Dean R Koontz series of books that feature the character.

Odd sees (murdered) dead people, and then has a talent that enables him to track down the killer.

The style of the film is quite quirky (in a good way), and overall it reminded me of The Frighteners. The 'small town' set that they use for Odd is, I'm sure the same (redressed) set as used in Back Top The Future, which was nice and nostalgic.

The special effects are good enough, and the plot was well composed with a few twists and turns. Overall - if you have Netflix, or 'other means' - have a watch.
