Review of Oculus (2014) by Warner B — 12 Sep 2014

Ok it was a smart psychological thriller mindfuck, but highly manipulative. It left the audience with a bummer, and no payoff. I felt insulted. Like that's it? A good movie builds up to some resolution, payoff, questionmark or meaning that atleast makes you think.

While this was entertaining, and a little creepy. The film accomplished none of those things. It built us up, then went nowhere in the end other than it's paralleling with flashbacks, which tried to provide an "ah ha" moment.

But by the time we get to that, it was just a stupid, bummer ending.
