Review of Oculus (2014) by Ben M — 13 May 2015

The concept of an inanimate object having paranormal qualities and controlling people to kill and whatnot is not terribly original, but Oculus still managed to set itself apart from other movies of its kind and the horror genre in general.

There was a great element of suspense, disturbing imagery, and frankly, a pretty good ending - very suiting. It certainly kept my attention and there were very, very few laughable moments which seem so common nowadays with horror movies.

I'd certainly recommend Oculus to anyone looking for a good horror movie.
