Review of Octopussy (1983) by Hugh J — 16 Nov 2015
MI6 agents dressed up as clowns running around chasing a Faberge egg owned by terrorists. That's definitely a statement, and the grandiosity of the circus climax (as well as all of the action preceding it) is unmatched.
Despite all of the camp elements, the plot is more believable and Moore's Bond is genuinely concerned about innocent lives. Perhaps if Octopussy came out earlier in the Moore era, it would've made a bigger splash.
