Review of October (Ten Days that Shook the World) (1928) by Matt K — 02 Oct 2009
Pretty exciting and stunning stuff here. It loses points for being a little too focused on montage and not enough on story. I wish it had given us a character or two to sympathize with (like the sailors in Potemkin), but the montages are thrilling enough to sustain the runtime.
Not a masterpiece, but definitely a film every filmmaker should see.
