Now, I'm not sure what to really think. I can tell you this right off the bat. Laura dern was awesome, and pitch perfect in her role. Now, saying that, the rest of the cast seems less then good, but don't get me wrong, they were good. Just not as good as Dern.
Maybe it isn't all action and effects, so maybe you got a little upset, understandable.Yet, how can you give this filma 0%. It has such deep values, and unlike other 0% nominees(Bewitched,The Notebook,New Best Friend(Which I gave two middle fingers up!), but 'October Sky' really does aim high, and gets your heart all warm inside.
This film isn't a very long drama, but it is a period piece. It is an uplifting story that is only all to realilistic to life in that kind of town. It is also well captured in it's saddening, but loveable spirit with it's sensational score.
"'October Sky' benifets from a well performing, and devoted cast, mainly 'Laura Dern'. It also has a great direction, and uplifting screenplay adapted from the memoir 'Rocket Boys'. It is also well strung, and lead by it's amazing score, by the great Mark Isham.".
True Rating: HW For Heartwarming.
