Review of Ocean's Eleven (2001) by Frank V — 12 Apr 2014
Following in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra and Lewis Milestone, Steven Soderbergh holds his own and produces a remake to rival if not beat the original. Soderbergh assembles an all star cast, and each of which are distinct and awesome in their roles.
This movie is fun and an absolute blast to watch, unfortunately the film's plot doesn't ever get much more than skin deep with emotional resonance -this is easily overlooked, however as the film is so much fun to experience.
What's less easy to overlook it Julia Roberts as the love interest who is acted fine, but written more dislike-able than need be. However the film still holds up as one of the best heist films around.
4/5.
