Review of Ocean's Eight (2018) by Jon C — 12 Jun 2018
It's been years since the last Ocean's film.
Now director Gary Ross brings the fun caper-heist vibe back but with an all female-led group.
Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Sara Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter.
Bullock is actually the sister of Danny Ocean played by George Clooney previously; she had an operation to get a big score but her boyfriend cheated her and landed her 5 years in prison.
Now she wants to put together the ultimate heist of stealing $15 million worth of a diamond necklace from a celebrity played by Anne Hathaway.
The cast is all excellent with their own special set of skills to pull off this job not to mention that seeing every single piece of it come together is pretty fun.
I was surprised how short this one felt compared to the other movies.
Even if it doesn't measure up to Clooney and his team's adventures the movie still is a wonder distraction showing that these women can pull off an impossible task.
