Review of Ocean's Eight (2018) by Escape V — 20 Dec 2018
Sadly this movie is plainly boring. It is full of aww it would have been cool if..." moments, but never delivers on anything. Especially the whole aftermath of the heist doesn't really make sense and it seems like the police are just a bunch of idiots who don't think it is weird that while the women who lost the necklace was with the man they later arrested, a picture of the stolen item on his drawer is sent to them (which they need for the warrant). This goes along with other completely unnecessary details that lead nowhere.
Worst thing is that after the heist we see the protagonists living their dreams" and it turns out they dreamed really small. You just get the feeling that in 3 weeks they'll be fed up with their life again and either turn to crime for the thrill or kill themselves - and that really doesn't feel very inspiring.
