Review of Ocean's Eight (2018) by Dave P — 14 Jun 2018
No imagination whatsoever. The seven women were merely mimicking their male counterparts in the other Ocean's. Anne Hathaway provided the only spark in the first half of the movie. No villain, no bad guy, empty plot, and a routine heist without any sleight of hand.
Not until James Cordin appears is there any energy and humor. If someone wants to argue against gender pay equality, this movie strengthens their case. Instead of something fresh, it was simply women trying to do the same part a man already did.
Three times. And by the third time, the men were boring, too.
