Review of Obvious Child (2014) by Emiy K — 21 Jun 2015
This is as much a stand-up routine as it is a film with both being at the top of their game. The casting of Jenny Slate was pure genius. Her facial expressions make the character almost more than the dialogue.
This movie managed to take a dark subject into levity while never losing sight of the actual topic at hand: abortion. Robespierre is to be commanded for both the witty brazenness of the script as well as the fluid feel of what could have easily been a slow film.
A very excellent movie.
