Review of Obvious Child (2014) by Alex C — 19 Jun 2014
Every moment feels honest and true in a way that I didn't even know was possible in a movie. As a comedy, it's easily one of the best of the year. As a drama, it holds its own against movies like Her, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Short Term 12.
With unexpectedly beautiful cinematography, intelligent, rewarding writing, and utterly believable performances by all (but especially Slate & Liedman), I expect Obvious Child will be one of those movies that'll sticks with you for a very long time.
