Review of Observe and Report (2009) by Quebin A — 16 Jun 2012
This offbeat comedy of a mall security guard trying to solve the crime of a flasher in the mall parking lot through extreme measures and trying to strike a date with the lady at the perfume counter in the process was somewhat of a surprise to me.
Rogen plays the bipolar security guard with such command that at first he annoys you but you do root for him because you know he can't help himself...he's just a little off...he's bipolar.
Liotta, Faris, and Pena play such great supporting characters. Collette Wolfe also deserves some kudos for her role as Nell, the disabled coffee lady. Anyway, Jody Hill (Eastbound & Down) directed and wrote this "darkish" comedy and it delivers.
