Review of Observe and Report (2009) by Paul C — 08 Aug 2010
This movie really surprised me. Paul Blart has nothin on this one. It has a lot going on in it, and it succeeds with the humor/real life balance. It really leaves a good feeling left for the viewer.
As a security guard (yeah, internally they make us say officer)...it does suck to see films like this one and paul blart poke immense fun at the pathetic fact that security guards are needed, but hey, it works for comedy. Still, it was refreshing to see Seth take a break from his pot. When he gets away from it and turns sweet and innocent, I can totally tolerate him. I hope he sticks with it, it works more than his harsher roles.
(Oh, and for the record, there is no "police officer recruiting office" where they greet you and put you into a camp after a background check. These writers should've done their background check on facts first. Apply against 200-400 other people, pass the prelim physical and written test, score high enough to be interviewed among 50-100 others, and be lucky enough for them to like you enough to pick you.).
