Review of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) by Ken S — 15 Apr 2014
The Coen Brothers create this Depression Era Deep South Epic Comedy about three escaped prisoners on an adventure meeting all sorts of colorful characters. The film draws some inspiration from the Odyssey, but it is so original in so many ways that it outshines any stigma of being an adaptation.
This film has been one of my favorites since I first saw it, and its beautiful cinematography mixed with a wonderful performances (probably the film that really made me enjoy George Clooney as an actor) and its fun plot don't have me thinking that'll change anytime soon.
