I wasn't the biggest fan of MSP and I personally think Palumbo is a talentless hack, well.. I still think that. This movie tries to be disturbing on it's kills alone, which doesn't work because the effects are horrible.
They're clearly using the the worst retractable blade I've ever seen, but they don't seem to care that knives are supposed to be shiny.
