Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Julien H — 06 Feb 2011
I don't know if it's just because I'm a huge fan of The Beatles and of Lennon's solo work but I thought the film was great. The film tries very hard to accurately portray his teen life.
The film did seem to fast ward though some things though. Like how it seemed to fast forward parts of the four years between the founding of The Quarrymen and the formation of The Beatles. But that doesn't really matter, the film was about The Beatles, it was about John's troubled teen years and his relationships with his mother and aunt.
It was very fitting to end the film with his song "Mother". I was surprised at how good Aaron Johnson was.
