Classic moments of hilarity, poignancy and ideality are sometimes lost in the almost irretrievable internal emotion struggle that is at play. It is an engaging film, generally due to Bette Davis' wonderful screen presence, but seems to be lagging when you compare it to it's foremost competitors in this region of film.
