Review of Now, Voyager (1942) by Steve S — 07 Aug 2011
*** (out of four).
One of Bette Davis' most popular films. Based on the populr novel, Davis stars as a young woman who is being smothered by her domineering mother and is unable to make the changes she needs to become and independent woman.
The plot is overly sentimental and is a full throttle soap opera. Bette Davis is nice and appealing in her understated part. Not a great movie, but it does manage to stay with you longer than expected.
