Review of Notes on a Scandal (2006) by Stefano L — 13 Sep 2010
I disliked this movie because I was reviled by the simplistic and almost sociopathic way in which the older lesbian character was portrayed. It made the movie unenjoyable on a level other than simply being a bit repulsive - it was actually hard to believe.
I just couldn't believe that the "inner thoughts" track was realistic. When people make poor, craven decisions, they tend to be somewhat unconscious or desperate. Describing it in lingual detail as if it was a mad scientist's plot is all kinds of wrong.
