Review of Notes on a Scandal (2006) by Akash V — 22 Apr 2014
I can't exactly say I finished this movie and loved it. Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett were quite wonderful in this movie. I was really impressed with Judi's performance as the character Barbara and how much I wanted to like her because of her desperation and ignorance.
On the other hand Cate's portrayal of Sheba was successful in subtle ways. But for some reason it left me a little cold. For some reason I had expected more enjoyable interactions between the women, but instead I found discomfort throughout the film and was basically waiting for it to fall apart.
For some reason I thought it had more to do with power rather then psycho old lady longing to be loved. None the less it was an interesting film with wonderful performances.
