Review of Notes on a Scandal (2006) by Jon C — 22 Jun 2012
Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench give such mesmerizing performances in this psycholoigical drama.
The plot is a bit uncomfortable considering the subject matter but these characters try to handle the situation best they can.
Dark secrets such as this tear people apart and scar the mind.
Being an hr and a half long it goes a tad further than it needs to but the direction is still smart.
The story also knows how to challenge the viewer thinking Dench's character wants a big desire from someone or just simply a friendship-based connection.
The music is fierce and deadly, too in this.
In the case of things who can you trust and do you know their motives truly?
"Notes on A Scandal" is an Oscar-worthy film with fine Brit actors and carefully-handeled melodrama.
