Extroardinary performances from Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett and a very good performance from Bill Nighy make this a gripping drama/thriller. The script was a bit overcooked at times, but it still allowed Dench to mesmerise the audience with a performance that was by turns subtle, humorous, melancholy, scheming, evil, tender, psychopathic.
.... She is surely an international treasure. Blanchett, as ever, is radiant and transcendant.
