Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Jarrod H — 28 Oct 2010
Like many others I consider this to be a masterpiece of the silent era. The plot is about John Harker who travels to meet Count Dracula and well the rest is kinda hard to explain. What this movie excells in is creating a chilling apmosphere with no dailogue and to this day is still pretty creepy to watch.
What I also like is the music(Which is fantastic by the way) it really sets the tone for this type of movie. What I also think is cool are some of the camera work like when Dracula sits up from the coffin or when you see his shadow climbing the staircase.
Now my only real grip with it is that it is a little slow and is pretty dated. But all in all it is truly a timeless classic.
