Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Don S — 06 Sep 2013
Ah, times were much simpler back then I imagine, and obviously it took much less to frighten people. This, the first vampire story set to film, is another "classic" all horror buffs are told to see.
I found it a bit silly but innocuous enough to get mild enjoyment from. The motionless Orlok with his clawed hands out just didn't instill any emotion at all in me, nor did the silhouettes of the claws headed toward a victim.
The music tried really hard to make me afraid but didn't get there either. I imagine this was a great effort for the time.
