Review of Norwegian Wood (2010) by Esther L — 11 Jan 2011
Whereas Tony Takitani (by Jun Ichikawa) was a brilliant adaptation of a Murakami short story, this adaptation of Murakami's most famous novel is drawn out, lacking in subtlety, and ultimately, despite its beautiful visuals, a somewhat painful film to watch.
Filmgoers familiar with the novel will almost certainly be disappointed, whereas those who haven't read the novel will probably like it even less.
