Review of Norwegian Wood (2010) by Joanna N — 09 Jun 2011
This seemed to resemble the book so loosely that it might as well not be Murakami. Yes, it did have that effect that Murakami's books have- lots of slow moving scenes with short bursts of action, but if you have read the book it is irritating to see how much the film skips.
It attempts to be artsy, but to me, it was illogical. So many things were rushed over, to the extent you had no idea what relevance it had. I had no emotional attachment to the characters, so I didn't really care what happened to them.
I think it's okay if you haven't read the book, but if you have -prepare to be frustrated!
