Review of Northanger Abbey (2007) by Sancha E — 14 Dec 2007
Lately I've been watching adaptations of Jane Austen novels. I'm obsessed. Whatever. I watched this move as well as Mansfield Park on Youtube, so the viewing quality was not that great. Anyway, this was an interesting movie. It could be more romantic, but something was lacking. The ending was pretty cute, but, it can go one step higher. Oh, I have to note that the ending looked pretty awkward...
I've never read the book, but maybe someday I will. Right now, I'm in the process of reading three Jane Austen novels: Persuasion; Emma; and Sense and Sensibility. I've already read Pride and Prejudice [and watched the '96 and '05 versions] and I absolutely loved it!
If you're interested, I heard that there's going to be a "The Complete Jane Austen Masterpiece Theatre" on PBS. They will be showing: Persuasion [2007]; Mansfield Park [a new 2007 version]; Northanger Abbey [also new, 2007]; Emma; Pride and Prejudice [1995 version with Colin Firth]; and finally Sense and Sensibility.
Happy watching!
