Review of North Country (2005) by Franz O — 05 Apr 2008
North Country is a movie about a group of women miners who face sexual harassment in their work place with nothing more than their will to live and their courage.
First of all, I want to praise Charlize Theron's performance in this film. Although she doesn't look like a mother, she certainly acts like one. Theron's acting captured a mother's love for her children and a woman's despair in an uncomfortable environment. Kudos!
The film has a very strong message. What makes the movie watchable is that the argument in debate is strongly explained through the outstanding performances of Theron's costars.
Final say? North Country delivers a very strong message, and the plight of the women affected are heard by the viewers through the effective acting of the actors. It is an outstanding film that will leave viewers emotionally satisfied. Definitely, in this movie, viewers will be rooting for the protagonists!
