Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Brian N — 07 Oct 2010
More of sentimental favourite to me then one of Hitchcock's best but damn it it fun. You have mistaken identity, murder, attempted murder by cropdusting and, of course, the climatic encounter at Mt. Rushmore. It's amazing and has great pacing. You're not bored for a single moment and you're constantly being surprised with what exactly is going on. Nothing is as it seems here, or at least not for very long.
The romance scenes are really cheesy though. That and the last thirty seconds of the film but there you have it. All apart of the charm ;).
