Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Spencer N — 29 Apr 2011
A very well made movie. Despite the overstated romance, a choppy edited ending, and the lack of information about the microfilm subplot, Cary Grant is magnificent as Roger O. Thornhill with all his quick-witted one-liners.
This is a breath of fresh air for Alfred Hitchcock who, around this time, was making movies with big twist endings as apposed to this picture that is filled with twists throughout.
