Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Derrick M — 11 Jan 2015
Cary grant really is great in this Hitchcock classic. The screenplay and story is really well written and smart, and includes lots of interesting twists. The only thing is it is a little long at 135 minutes, and was slow to start.
It took 30 or 40 minutes for things to really get interesting, and some scenes did feel a little stretched. The crop duster scene and the final scene are really well done however, and I can see why this movie is a classic.
I can see how it influenced future thrillers. A must-watch for movie fans.
