Review of Nocturnal Animals (2016) by Shawn E — 27 Dec 2016
One thing is certain: 2016 is the year of Amy Adams!
Wow, what a career! Such a profound, blessed and intriguing filmography she has. "Arrival" and "Nocturnal Animals" are one of the best films from this year. Amy Adams should really get her Oscar next year.
I could totally relate to her character, although I'm the opposite of her. Amy can portray the inner struggle of her character so well, as well as her unlikable personality and her regret.
The movie is really depressing btw. Although I loved it, I don't think that I will be able to watch it again. It is really disturbing...and not in a beautiful way.
The only beautiful thing in the movie (apart from the actresses) are the costumes.
Tom Ford proves again that he is not only a designer but an artist. He chooses his actors wisely and directs them perfectly. He has created two masterpieces by now.
