This film floored me. What a thought provoking film this is. Amy Adams gives a brilliant performance as a woman who has everything yet is deeply unsatisfied, She receives a manuscript from her ex-husband and is immediately engrossed in the story.
We the audience gets to see this fictional story play out on screen. It is devastating, terrifying and ties in so well with the larger themes of the movie as a whole. Jake Gyllenhaal gives a great performance, as does Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor Johnson.
The directing was amazing. This is a film that will stay with you for days after. I loved it.
