I'm going to mention the obvious: a man's wife can't support his writing, so he writes a novel in which his wife and daughter get brutally, beaten, raped, and murdered. I'm not sure Tom Ford has any real appreciation and respect for his female characters.
Their value is only aesthetic. They're beautiful, but disposable.
