Review of Nocturnal Animals (2016) by All_Buttru4 — 03 Sep 2022
Regret haunts both stories told in this movie whether it's betrayal, inaction or grief there's an unwavering weight of "only if ". It can feel a bit loose and derivative at points in the beginning but as the novel is read and the concurrent narratives unravel you're swept in by the chill tale of a father's gratuitous loss and the bitterness of the readers loveless life.
It can be triggering in it's violence that takes the excessive extra mile in it's detail but thankfully Gyllenhaal and Adam's are brilliant in there roles.
