Review of Nocturnal Animals (2016) by Emily B — 15 Sep 2017

Stylishly directed by Ford and with gorgeous cinematography, this is a truly beautiful film to look at with a very noir feel to it and a hell of a lot of atmosphere. Taking a deep look at our main character's life, played wonderfully by Amy Adams, we delve into how her past, present and future has been shaped by the decisions she's made, as well as how they have had a significant effect on others.

It's a fundamentally reflective story, but also manages to work in a surprising amount of tension. In the end, the message the film is sending is clear and it is as affecting as it is engaging.
