Review of Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press (2017) by William V — 04 Jul 2017
Horrible one sided documentary whose sole purpose is to portray, in the very worst light possible, and then negatively connect Hulk Hogan, Peter Thiel, Sheldon Adelson, and Donald Trump. They do this while simultaneously implying that anyone who declares themselves a journalist is entitled to act in what ever manner they choose and to say/write anything they want, no matter how salacious or demonstrably untrue.
The bottom line is that whenever you base your story on ex-Gawker "journalists," fired reporters, lawyers, and senior representatives of the WAPO and The Nation, you know you are in trouble.
The implied message is that if the elitist media and gossip monger agree with you (e.g. Jeff Bezos) you can do no wrong, even as you gobble up virtually every business in sight under the Amazon banner.
But if they disagree with you (e.g. Peter Thiel) then anything you say or do is hairbrained, weird, and not in the best interest of the public. And yet the very worst thing about this "mockumentary" is the body shaming rants by the snowflake (and now unemployed) reporters from the Las Vegas Paper of Record who nobly commit employment Hari Kari.
You've got to love the reporter who tells us some stories are worth losing your job over and then says she cried for hours when she lost her job.
