Review of The Drop (1965) by William V — 22 Mar 2015
What I found to be mostly surprising about The Drop, is that its screenplay is its major weakness. Dennis Lehane's sort of naive script isn't really what you'd expect from a writer of this caliber and a cast that star-studded.
The performances are great though, with a very missed James Gandolfini, giving one of the most performances of his career. All in all, this movie is directed to deliver a great intensity for a very simple and cliche plot, yet it offers some interesting characters, portrayed by very talented actors.
