Review of Nobody Knows (2004) by Thomas G — 03 Dec 2007
Absolutely devastating and beautiful film. Nobody Knows (which essentially implies 'Nobody Cares') follows as a group of children survive in an ambivalent modern Tokyo as their flighty and unstable mom abandons them.
This is the sort of subtle, elegant, and emotionally poignant film making that hopefully makes people change laws, behavior and empathy for the better.
